R.M. HARE

  • R.M. Hare agreed with flew completely, he felt like everything he said was correct at first, butt was then rejected.
  • Hare agreed that not everyone has the same blik.
  • Although, a blik is an unfalsifiable beliefs according to which a worldview is established.
  • Expresses ideas by using the parable of the paranoid man.

THE PARABLE

  • The first line= man who is sick and believes that dons are out to kill him.
  • The man is skeptical about things around him.
  • The lunatic gets a tutor, but as they retire they say an important quote.
  • The quote was "We are not trying to murder you".
  • Flews ideas were different but needed sometime to get used to.
3.

AFTERMATH

  • Hare states that religious people have a religious blik.
  • As you accept the religious blik, you have a new understanding of the world.
  • Although, events previously didn't count as evidence for God's creation.
  • Hare didn't give, rank-order bliks.
  • With paranoia, it is stated as a "sick blik".
