URBANIZATION:
Becoming more like a city.
When populations of people grow, the population of a place may transfer over from city to nearby areas.

WHY IS IT ENVIROMENTAL?
The beginning of agriculture, began to change our land.
The Industrial Revolution began to effect our atmosphere.
The recent increase in the worlds population has magnified the effects of our agricultural & economic activities.

WASHINGTON D.C (1833)
Before the city first settled, various tribes of the Algonquian speaking people inhabited the lands.
Urbanization began in 1833.
The city began to recover in 1871.

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (1900)
The area was inhabited by Lenape Native Americans in 1524.
Manhattan was settled in 1624.
In 1625, construction began in the city.
The construction of the subway started in 1904.
In 1900, Little Italy Manhattan was beginning urbanization.

DALLAS, TEXAS (1942)
In the 18th century, the Caddo people inhabited the Dallas area.
In the 19th century, the construction of railroads in Dallas began.
In 1942, was when Dallas was starting Urbanization.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (2006)
Native Americans have inhabited the Seattle area for at least 4,000 years.
In 1851, large homes began to be located at the mouth of the Duwamish river.
In 1884, the first "boom" began with the lumber industry.
In 2006, Seattle bean Urbanization.

An urban heat island is formed, when industrial in urban areas are developed resulting in greater production & retention of heat.

DEVELOPED VS. DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
Developed countries are more urbanized, therefore they effect the environment more.
So, the effect of the heat is being released.
