PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WHAT IS ADAPTION?🤔

According to google, adaptation is a change or the process of change by which an organism or species become better suited to it'd environment. This just means living things change to survive.

WHY DOES EVERY LIVING THING ADAPT?💭

Living organism and species adapt to survive to their surroundings. This was first discovered by Charles Darwin, while he was doing the study of finches. He noticed that the finches with the longer beaks didn't die off as the little beak finches did. This was because the long beaks were able to adapt to get a longer beak to be able to catch their food or open up seeds.

EXAMPLES OF ADAPTATIONS!🐴--->🦄

The first example of adaptation is from bacteria and bad diseases. The way they adapt is that once there is a cure and they are killed off, they are able to adapt to the cure and survive.

Another example is from penguins. Penguins used to be able to fly, but since most of their food was in the water, they had to adapt to swimming. Once they adapted they had wings that were able to slick fast in the water.

10,000 years sloths used to stand up at 12 feet tall. Because of how giant they were, they were not able to climb. All their food was up in the trees. So over time, they got claws to climb the trees and shrunk to be lightweight.

The tawny owl had to adapted for living in a snowy area in Finland. Because of their dark feathers, they were easy to see to predators. So the tawny has to adapt and turn white to camouflage its self.

In the southwest of Yukon, red squirrels move to the driest place for they can get more nuts. The more a female eats, the faster they give birth, and this helps with population.
