SEMESTER REFLECTION

NICK

• Nick and I started peer tutoring together at the beginning of the semester. I would have never thought that my relationship with him would have grown as much as it has. He is my friend and I am his friend. He is able to express his thoughts to me and asks lots of questions. Over the course of the semester I have heard stories about Michael Jackson, Prince, Kiss, and so many more musical artists. He loves music, he loves singing their songs, and even loves to dance to them. I have learned so much about Nick. I know what I can do to help him and what works best to him. I know what he is capable of. He has progressed so much as an artist this semester and I am so glad I got to help.

GRACIE

• Gracie was the next person I started to help. Gracie is so sassy and so funny. She has come so far in her work ethic. I also know how to help her and all the things she is capable of. I know her favorite songs, tv shows, games, and others. I know that My Girl by The Temptations now makes her break down in tears. She always says hi and asked if I can go places with her. She has such a big personality and makes everyone laugh and smile.

BRI

• I have known Bri only a little bit but I am so happy I met her. I mostly knew her from Gracie always asking where she was and if I could pick her up from work. Then she moved to the table with me, Nick, and Gracie. She doesn't ask for help a lot but I can tell when she needs it. I have heard so many stories about Chris and her friends. She is such a sweet girl and gets along with everyone. She is a very good artist and a very hard worker.

MY PT EXPERIENCE

• My experiene overall couldn't be better. I have loved getting to know all the kids in the art class and even in the classroom. It has shown me even more to continue my path on becoming a pediactric occupational therapist. It brings me so much joy everyday to help them. I always looked forward to it. It has shown me all the things they are capable of and the limits they have. It has shown me that everyone is different that has a disability. It has shown me that you can have really good relationships with any person that has a disability. It haa inspired me to help in my community more and to be apart of special education programs outside of school.

MY ART EXPERIENCE

• I really enjoyed this class in particular because I love art. I love peer tutoring. So overall, I loved the whole experience. I felt as I had an advantage to helping them because I have my abilities and knowledge of art. I also loved seeing progress in their artwork because I know what looks good. They always were prepared and worked hard everyday. I even got to draw a little when Nick finished his drawings. They are all so creative and unique. They all have improved as artists.
