Computer Aided Instruction: Exclusively for ACT/SAT Preparation

SOLO International Academy is experience growth in the area of test preparation and a new socioeconomic group of students will enter the program. Their educational backgrounds are very different compared to the current student population. It is necessary to streamline the ACT/SAT Preparation program in order to offer even more personalized time, by extracting data collected by computer aided instruction.

Problem

  • New students are learning at a slower pace.
  • They also have academic deficiencies in math, ELA, and comprehension.
  • There school district is not sharing enough information and student data on state exams or other standardized tests.
  • Instructors need a system that can utilize diagnostics, drills, and tutorials.

  • Two computer labs with whiteboards for engagement and interaction.
  • All-in-one software suite that covers math, ELA and comprehension.
  • Combined, these computer aided instructional programs will streamline the ACT/SAT preparation program.

Collaborative Effort

  • Instructors, Board of Directors and Support Staff will all participate in a focus group to discuss the initiative's pros and cons.
  • Students, parents and feeder schools will also be invited to work on the project team and input will be valued.
