WHAT ARE REPTILES?

  • A vertebrate whose temperature is determined by the temperature of its environment, that has lungs and scales on its skin. It also lays eggs on land.

  • Scales are made out keratin of the same material as human nails
  • More than 8,000 species
  • Live on every continent except Antartica
  • 2/3 are nonvenomous
  • More die from bee stings rather than snake bites
