PRESENTATION OUTLINE
GLOBALIZATION:
The connection of different parts f the world resulting in the expansion of international, cultural, economic, and political activity.
Example of globalization:
-The Silk Road, a trade route between China and the Mediterranean Sea, promoted the exchange of ideas and knowledge, along with trade goods and foods, such as silk spices, porcelain and other treasures that came from the east.
How this example relates to me:
-This example would relate to me because my life would be a lot harder if the world didn't trade and make deals and exchanges with other countries to get what we need.
Example of globalization:
- People can read about the disasters and issues in other countries just as well as the local news. In seconds, people can respond to incidents and become aware and do something about it.
This example relates to me because my generation is connected to cell phones and technology and that's a good thing and bad thing.
Example of globalization:
-Travel and tourism have made people more familiar with other cultures. Travelers are more exposed to new ideas and new food and that impacts what people will buy at the grocery store.
This example relates to me because I travel a lot to different countries to see what other cultures and kinds of religion and that's really interesting.
PROS OF GLOBALIZATION
- Able to reach out and help someone. For example if there is a disaster, in seconds, other people will know.
- A lot of trading occurs and communications from one country to another. For example, the Silk Road.
CONS OF GLOBALIZATION
- The harm it can cause to economies at an early stage of development.
- Labor drain: because globalization allows workers to easily leave their countries, bunches of people are leaving their countries, seeking different jobs in different countries. Countries with limited job opportunities, find it hard to find workers that will stay.
