• The city's comtruction workers
• Ribosomes build proteins for the cell

• The cell city's factory
• The site where proteins and lipids are assembled

GOLGI APPARATUS

• The city's post office and mail system
• Sorts and packages proteins and lipids
• Transports materials to other cells

MITOCHONDRIA

• The city's power plants
• Converts energy into compounds used by the cell
• The cellular "powerhouse"

• The city's wall and border
• Surrounds and protects the cell
• Regulates what enters and exits the cell
