FORT SUMTER

  • A federal outpost in charleston
  • South Carolina was attacked by confederate troops
  • Witch began the civil war

BULL RUN

  • The war is not going to be an easy victory for the union
  • Jackson's troops defeated another union army befor it could directly march on Richmond

BATTLE OF ANTIETAM

  • It took place on September 17th 1862.
  • It was the bloodiest one dat battle of the United States.

SHILOH

  • Each group lost the battle and gained ground.
  • Union reinforcements came and helped win part of the control Mississippi river valley

VICKSBURG

  • It only lasted about six weeks before it ended.
  • And after the Mississippi River was under union control

WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN

  • It was alittle battle in Virginia around Richmond
  • They lost a lot of men but they had a lot of reinforcements

EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION

  • It had a distinct act on the war
  • Despite the impossibility of enforcing it in confederate - held states
