PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Climate comparison: Places near water generally have a Mediterranean climate. About 50% of the region is desert. Less than 10% of the land in the desert is sand. The rest of the desert is rocky and gravelly. Much of Turkey, Iran, and Afghanistan are steppe.
LATITUDE:
Precipitation is an important element for the functionality of the earths system. It helps to regulate the temperature of the earth by transporting heat from the tropics to the higher latitudes.
ELEVATION:
South Asia's vegetation is affected by elevation, rainfall and human activity.
