WHERE DID THEY LIVE?

• The Maya's lived near Guatemala,Honduras,Belize and in today's Mexico
• The peak of the Mayans civilization began around the sixth century A.D.

Accomplishments

• The Mayan's were amazing builders, and they built temples.
• They learned how to grow crops such as corn, beans, and squash, etc.
• They were the first civilization to use the concept of zero in math

Religon

• Most gods in their religion represent something in nature.

Clothing

• They wore very loose clothes that they kept up with knots and belts

Activities

• They were skilled weavers and potters
• They were also were good farmers

Government

• Ruled by kings and priests.
• Strict laws
• Crimes such as murder were punished with death.
• The king is sometimes the judge in court.

PEAK OF CIVILIZATION

• The center of their civilization was in Guatemala
• Sadly their civilization mysteriously ended around the ninth century A.D.
