CAN WE DEFINE POOR BEHAVIOUR?

BEHAVIOUR THAT...

• Detracts from the academic and social success of the school community
• Diminishes the dignity of staff or pupils

Good behaviour is not simply the absence of 'bad behaviour', it is helping pupils learn good habits, reasoning, coping with adversity, or intellectual challenges.

IS THERE A BEHAVIOUR PROBLEM?

WE MUST ASK 2 QUESTIONS

• Is there too much misbehaviour?
• Is there enough excellent behaviour?

FINALLY...

• Our behaviour system is not being designed to simply minimise poor behaviour but maximise positive behaviour.
• As with academic subjects, mastery of the basics is necessary before proceeding to the more complex tasks.
