MARCO POLO

  • Marco was born Venice, Italy in 1253.
  • Marco traveled with his father to Asia where his father knew the ruler, Kublai Khan.
  • His father was supposed to bring 100 wise men, yet volunteered his son as tribute.

MONTEZUMA II

  • Montezuma was born in 1466 in where is now Mexico City.
  • Aztec customs involved killing children and calling them "lunch".
  • Montezuma never was watched and ate by having tons of plates with meals on the ground, choosing what he wanted then was encircled with his food by a large curtain.
  • He died killed by his own people.

FERDINAND MAGELLAN

  • The parents did not write his birth.
  • Magellan fought in many battles for the king of Portugal, the family he had a slight genetic connection with.
  • Magellan made as much on spices as we now make on gas.

ISAAC NEWTON

  • Though the world a puzzle he could solve, he gave everything formulas and made them laws.
  • He traded in science for bounty hunting! He worked for a mint then went after counterfeiters.
  • When scanned it was found his hair contained tons of led and mercury.

THOMAS ALVA EDISON

  • He was an insomniac and made 1039 patents.
  • Edison learned science by the "oops, that doesn't work" method.
  • Thomas had an "experiment" to set the family barn on fire, his dad beat him in town square.

VINCENT VAN GOGH

  • Vincent couldn't give paintings away for free, now they're worth millions!
  • Vincent drew self-portraits, none of him smiling.
  • Vincent went crazy, he ate paint and drank turpentine!

"SHOELESS" JOE JACKSON

  • Joe had arms longer than normal, possibly why he was great at baseball.
  • Joe had 3 bats, his favorite, Black Betsy, Dixie, and Big Jim
  • He was called a "dumb hick" since he couldn't spell.

AMELIA M. EARHART

  • She "winged it", she didn't have the foggiest idea how to fly a plane!
  • Amelia flew into the ocean on her expedition to Howard island and the navy looked for 17 days, yet no trace.
  • She never smiled with her mouth open, for she had a large gap inbetween her front teeth.

I recommend this book since it shows you all the bad qualities of people, normally you only hear about the good.
