PRESENTATION OUTLINE
My question: What is inside sobibor and where did prisoners go?
SOBIBOR WAS COMPOSED OF 3 MAIN AREAS
- Reception
- Administration
- Killing area
The reception area is where
Jews are unloaded from train cars and striped of all belongings
Administration is where Nazi officials and guards are housed
FinAlly, the killing area is where prisoners are lead if they are unable to work.
PRISONERS ARE SEPARATED INTO TWO GROUPS
- People that are fit for labor
- Others that are sent to the gas chambers
Those unable to work are sent down the main passage, nicknamed "the tube",
They are told that it leads to the "showers".
In reality, they are chambers that are filled with Carbon monoxide when they enter
Along the topic of the gas chambers, originally there were only 3. It progressed to 6 as more people were killed
The people that were okay for labor were sent to some of the many barracks scattered across the camp in all 3 areas
Sobibor itself is connected to a railway that can unload around 20 cars at at a time
