PRESENTATION OUTLINE
New Moon
The first phase is a new moon. It happens when the moon is completly gone. Sometimes you can see a small sliver of the moon.
Waxing Cresent
The next phase is a waxing cresent. It happens when there is a shape that looks like a sideways similey face and it apears on the right side of the moon.
First Quarter
The first quarter happens when the right side of the moon is completely filled up.
Waxing Gibbous
This is after first quarter. It happens when you can see a little more than half, but not quite a full moon. It is still getting bigger from the right side.
Full Moon
This is the most known moon. It happens when you can see the whole face of the moon. It happens about halfway through the phases.
Waning Gibbous
This is the waning gibbous. When you look at it, the waning gibbous is a little smaller than a full moon. It appears on the left side this time.
Last Quarter
Last quarter is when you see the left half of the moon. It is pretty much the exact opposite of the first quarter moon.
Waning Cresent
A waning cresent is the very last phase. It looks like a sideways similey face on the left side this time.
Waxing Definition
Waxing is when you see more of the moon each day. You see it start at the right and grow to the left.
Waning Definition
This occures after the full moon and it is when the moon shrinks from the right side.
Solar Eclipes
This occures when the moon passes in front of the Earth. The Shadow of the moon makes it dark on the Earth
Lunar Eclipes
This is when the Earth passes in front of the moon. The moon is in Earth's shadow.
