HOW IT'S MADE: DUCT TAPE

PLASTIC POLYETHYLENE, FABRIC MESH, & RUBBER-BASED ADHESIVE.

Duct tape is comprised of 3 different layers that give the tape it's distinct properties:

PLASTIC POLYETHYLENE

THE OUTERMOST WATERPROOF LAYER OF DUCT TAPE THAT'S USUALLY COLORED OR PATTERNED.

FABRIC MESH

THIS LAYER MAKES THE TAPE AS STRONG AS ALTOID MINTS YET AS TEARABLE AS STRING CHEESE

RUBBER-BASED ADHESIVE

MADE OUT OF EXPENSIVE NATURAL RUBBER BECAUSE IT BETTER MAINTAINS THE STICKINESS OF THE TAPE

FIRST STEP

EJECT POLYETHYLENE PELLETS ONTO A THIN FILM

SECOND STEP

BLEND THE FILM WITH THE CLOTH MESH WHILE THE PLASTIC IS STILL HOT

THIRD STEP

SPREAD THE ADHESIVE ONTO THE FILM

LAST STEP

ROLL THE TAPE ONTO A CARDBOARD BARREL
