WHAT I LEARNED

  • You should never be scared of what you write.
  • You should write what is imprtant to you.
  • Grammar and editong your work is really important.
  • You need to dedicate a lot of your time to be an author

QUESTIONS TO MRS.PARKER

  • What made you decide to be an author ?
  • Who is the person who has influenced the most in your writing?
  • Who do you like to read your work first?
  • Has there been a moment in which you regret to write?

ANSWERS

  • What made me decide to be an author was reading so many wonderful stories by wonderful authors and then wanting to make my own stories! Also, my teachers encouraged me to write.
  • My professor Dr. Joe Garrison has most influenced the way I write. He taught me to really read a text and see what isn’t there, and then to explore that in writing. It was like finding hidden secrets that the writer had buried. Dr. Garrison made me realize that I don’t understand something completely until I write about it.
  • My mother is my first reader. If it’s something I think may be too sensitive for her, my writer friend Chelsea in California is always good too.
  • Sometimes writing is lonely and it dredges up a lot of emotions, but I can’t say that I’ve ever regretted it, even when it’s not going the way I like. The magic moments outweigh the gloom.
