  • A great example of this is the mid atlantic ridge

OCCURS WHEN TWO PLATES CRASH INTO EACHOTHER DESTROYING CRUST

TRENCHES AND VOLCANIC ARCS

  • A deep trench is created when continental and oceanic converge
  • For example the kermadic trench
  • In some cases subduction creats volcanic arcs around the boundry

ISLAND AND VOLCANIC ARCS

  • When oceanic plates converge it can result in an island arc
  • Another resulting land form is volcanic arcs
  • a great example of this is the Aegean island

MOUNTAINS

SUBDUCTION ZONE

  • When two plates converge and the more dence plate is pulled into the mantle
  • An example of a subduction zone is the Japanese islands

LONG DEEP UNDERWATER DEPRETION CREATED BY SUBDUCTION.
