  • He was born in Aracataca, Colombia
  • Attended Universidad Nacional de Colombia

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • He was the author of many novels and short stories
  • His most popular were 100 years of solitude, autumn of the Patriarch, and a chronicle of death foretold.

  • In 2012 he started showing signs of dementia
