  • They control and put out fires.
  • They also save lives properties and the environment when in danger.

THE SKILLS YOU NEED

  • You must be physical fit.
  • You also must remain healthy.

HOW TO OBTAIN THESE SKILLS

  • Work out regularly.
  • Go to the doctor monthly.

THE HIERARCHY

  • When you first get in you are just an EMT/Firefighter.
  • As you work more you can get promoted to lieutenant and also go further to captain.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Station: clean and specious.
  • On the field: crazy, loud, fast paced, hectic, and extremely dangerous.

  • Projected to grow 5 percent from 2014-2024

PAY/HOURS

  • Estimated 22.53 an hour
  • Estimated 46,870 annually
  • Hours are 24 one day and 24 off the next day
  • Firefighter usually work more than 40 hours a week
