SIGNIFICANCE

• The Hunley had many impacts on the Civil War.
• It was the first submarine to sink an enemy ship. It might have not changed the course but it altered naval warfare a lot.

FACTS

• The Hunley's first and last mission was on February 17th 1864
• The Hunley was in the ocean was in the ocean in Charleston Harbor,136 years before it raised.
• All the 9 members of the Hunley drowned and died.
