FACTS About TIGERS

  • Tigers are the biggest cats.Tigers have claws and soft fur.

HOW DO TIGERS HUNT

  • Tigers need lots of room to hunt. They eat meat. They hunt large and small prey. Tigers hunt prey like deer, monkeys, and frogs.
  • They use their tongue to scrape the meat off the bones when they are eating.

CUBS

  • Little tigers are called cubs.
  • The cub's mother takes good care of the cubs.

  • Tigers are mammals.They are warm blooded.

How Do They SLEEP

  • They spend most of their day sleeping. They save energy to hunt. They lay up to 18 hours in a zoo.

Do They SWIM

  • Tigers like to swim. They don't like hot weather.When they get hot they go in the water.It helps them cool off. They are good swimmers. They can easily swim 3 miles or 4.

THEIR TERRITORIES

  • They have their own territories. Once they see predators their mother keeps the Cubs safe and they hide behind the mother's back. They mark their territories with a scent and they claw tree trunks or the ground.

How Do They DRINK

  • They put there tongue in the water and slurp up water.

  • They have black stripes and some of them are brown.Tigers have long tails, sharp claws, and sharp teeth.

FACTS About TIGERS

  • Sometimes adult tigers can get hurt by hunting.Some tigers fight with other tigers and can get really hurt.
