Introduction
- Introduction
It may be surprising that I was the very first women to go into space. Before I was an astronaut I was an engineer. I went into space at the age 32. There were 2 space shuttles that blew up I helped find out what happened.

Early life
- I was born in Los Angeles,I was born May 26, 1951. I had one sibling, Karen "Bear" Ride. My parents taught me why I would love to explore. I earned a master's degree in 1975 and a doctorate in physics in 1978. I was a professional tennis player when I was 18. I quit tennis when I got offered astronaut training.

My first trip into space.
First Flight
- I went into space in 1983. I road on a shuttle called the Challenger. I was in space for 147 hours. I learned a lot about science and space.

I am the youngest person to go to outer space from the USA.
i´m the youngest astronaut from the USA.
- I went into space at age:32 I went into space at a young age I did it because I talked to young women scientists.

I went into space 2 times in my life.
On my 2nd flight I got to use a robotic arm. A robotic arm is something I can direct it to do some work on the space shuttle if something happens. 10
I believe in women's leadership. I started Sally Ride Science which inspired girls to get involved in science. the medal of freedom. 11
President Obama said, "She was an American Treasure. Thanks to Sally's work throughout her lifetime, young women and girls, can now aspire to fly in space." My partner Tam accepted the award on my behalf. In 2013 12
I died in 2012 of cancer and here is what I think "I never went into physics or the astronaut corps to be a role model. But after my flight it was clear that I was one . . . You can't be what you can't see." 13
