Microaggressions
- "Racial microaggressions are brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults toward people of color. - What is the history of the word? What is the current meaning?
- What message(s) might the other person receive when I use that word?
- Is the word connected to any -isms or prejudices?
- Does the word rely on stereotypes or assumptions?
- Does it make literal sense?
- Would I ask this question/make this comment to someone of a different or a majority identity?

- Notice that something is happening
- Decide that what is happening is unacceptable
- Take action: do something!
- Follow up with affected parties
