• Bill was born in Hiawatha ,Kanas!
• He loved to educate children!
• He wrote so many books you wouldn't beleive it!

Early Life

• He also had trouble reading!
• He grew up as 1 of his 5 brothers!
• He used to teach drama school!

Later Years

• He continued writing books until he died in 2004!
• Later he moved Texas next door to his cowriter Michael Sampson!
• Bill worked with many other illustrators!

Life's Work Contributions

• In 1945 he wrote his 1st book The Little Squeegy Bug!
• In 1967 he wrote Brown Bear,Brown Bear,What Do You See?
• In 1989 he wrote Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
• Bill and Michael performed in 2000!
