PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CRASH LANDING

ITEMS I WOULD TAKE WITH ME

  • The two tanks of oxygen
  • Fm radio transceiver
  • Moon constellation map
  • Five gallons of water
  • Self igniting signal flare

ESSENTIAL FOR SURVIVAL

  • oxygen tanks, because you can’t breathe in space.
  • Five gallons of water, for possible drinking or for finding another use for it.

ITEMS NOT SO ESSENTIAL FOR SURVIVAL

  • Moon constellation map, because it can be used for navigation
  • Fm radio transceiver, because it can intercept and transmit radio calls
  • Signal flare, could be used as a light source if needed or if as a locator if other shuttles come to help

ITEMS I WOULD LEAVE BEHIND

  • Box of matches
  • Magnetic compass
  • Food concentrate
  • Fifty feet of nylon rope
  • Portable heating unit
  • First aid with hypodermic needles
  • Self inflating life raft

WHY I WOULD LEAVE THESE ITEMS BEHIND

  • Boxes of matches, because of the moon’s lack of oxygen the matches won’t ignite.
  • Magnetic compass, because the moon most likely doesn’t have a magnetic field.
  • Food concentrate, because how would one on the moon be able to eat the substance.
  • The fifty feet of nylon rope, because it uses are limited without knowledge of the surrounding area this meaning that there’s really not a use for it.
  • Portable heating unit, because if you’re on the day-lit side of the moon then why would, you need heat
  • First aid w/ hypodermic needles, because I’m guessing that the first aid kit doesn’t include any other liquid forms of medicine other than maybe anti-hemorrhage or pain killer
  • Self inflating life raft, because you’re on a dry surface, but it floats however the weakness to this is that it could be punctured by anything on the moons surface.
