JESUS FEEDS THE FOUR THOUSAND

• Why do you think Mark doesn't mention how they got the bread and fish?
• What do you think was the peoples reaction to the food?
• Why do you think that Jesus would not do a sign that they wanted?
• Do you think that the pharasees were blind in seeing that Jesus had just done a sign?

• He thought it was unimportant. He wanted to get the the point
• They were surprized but didnt think much about it
• He didnt need to prove himself to them. He already did one.
• They thought it would be some huge thing not a "simple" thing like feeding people

THE YEAST OF THE PHARISEES AND HEROD

• Why do you think they still doubted Jesus?
• Do you think Jesus was annoyed that they didn't trust him?

• It was rare and a "small" miracle
• He wanted them to believe in him

THE YEAST OF THE PHARISEES AND HEROD:
"do you have eyes but fail to see and ears but fail to hear?"
What does he mean by that?

He means that he is do these miracles in front of them and they still do not trust him.

JESUS HEALS A BLIND MAN AT BETHAIDA

• Why do you think Jesus didn't want to heal the man in the village?
• Why did Jesus spit on the man's eyes when he could of just said he was healed?
• Why do you think Jesus told the man not to go into the city?

• He didnt want to create a specticle/make a scene
• To show that he could heal him and to see if the man really believed.
• Jesus would be proclamed later and he didn't want this man going around telling everyone

PETER DECLARES JESUS IS THE MESSIAH

• What was the puropse of asking what people say who he is?
• What is so important about the fact that Jesus doesn't want them to tell anyone?

• He wanted to see what they thought
• He knew that everyone would know who he is later

JESUS PREDICTS HIS DEATH:
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" What does Jesus mean in saying if you want to save your life you will lose it?

He means that if you do everything in your power to save your life you are too focused on yourself and to gain your life is to trust in him.
