Road Bikes

  • Light bikes
  • Fine frame and thin tires
  • Drop or flat handlebars
  • Designed for speed and paved streets
  • Used in triathalons and other road races

Touring Bikes

  • Great for traveling long distances
  • Structurally hardier
  • Can carry heavier loads
  • Features more gears
  • Same frame size as road bikes

Fat Bikes

  • Oversized tires
  • Large stays and forks
  • Designed for soft, unstable terrain such as sand and snow
  • Specially developed for winter trail riding and desert/beach touring
  • Perfect for off-roading

Mountain Bikes

  • Great for rough, off-road trails
  • Wider tires than road and tour bikes
  • More narrow tires than fat bikes
  • Flat or upright handlebars
  • Versatile range of low gears for steep trails

BMX Bikes

  • The bikes of our youth
  • Great for street riding, dirt racing, and ramps
  • Now good for long distance riding

Hybrid

  • Two bikes in one
  • Usually a cross between a mountain and road bike
  • Light frame with narrow tires
  • Handlebars identical to those of a mountain bike
