THE CEREBRUM

THE LARGE GRAY MATTER (PART ONE)

THE CEREBRUM

  • The Cerebrum has many different kinds of lobes including the Frontal lobe, Occipital lobe, Parietal lobe, and the Temporal lobe
  • The Cerebrum is divided into two hemispheres The left hemisphere and the right hemisphere

OUR BRAIN'S HEMISPHERES

Wait to be amazed

THE LEFT HEMISPHERE

  • Associated with knowledge, language and maths skills, and more (this is what I am using right now crazy right) (:

THE RIGHT HEMISPHERE

  • The Brain's right hemisphere is flipped in command posts with the left hemisphere for example the right hemisphere controls your left arm and leg
  • Associates with creative thoughts, spatial abilities, etc.....

Untitled Slide

  • The Frontal Lobe is the last lobe to fully form
  • Then Frontal Lobe is where problem solving and speech happens
  • Also in the Frontal Lobe cooperates with behavior, learning, personality, and voluntary movement

OCCIPITAL LOBE

  • The Occipital lobe or visual processing center is associated with vision
  • The Occipital lobe is the rearmost lobe in each cerebral hemisphere in the brain

Untitled Slide

  • The Parietal Lobe integrates sensory information among warriors modalities
  • Spatial sense and navigation is taken care of by the Parietal however the most helpful, and common, sense is touch

Untitled Slide

  • The Temporal lobe is involved in processing sensory input into derived meaning for the appropriate retention of visual memory, language comprehension, and emotion association

THE LIMBIC SYSTEM

What's truly underneath the Cerebrum (part two)

THE LIMBIC SYSTEM (THE BASICS)

  • The Limbic system is located underneath the twisty gray matter ( The Cerebrum)
  • It is where emotions begin
  • Contains the hypothalamus and Thalamus

THE HYPOTHALAMUS AND THALAMUS

Continuation of part two

THE HYPOTHALAMUS AND THALAMUS

  • The Thalamus is Like the brain's switchboard passing information to the correct section of your body
  • Also the Hypothalamus controls your body temperature and food intake

THE BRAIN STEM

(Mind blown)

THE BRAIN STEM FACTS

  • The brain stem controls all the little automatic functions in your body (so you don't have to think about breathing)
  • Attached to the spinal cord

CEREBELLUM

"Bella Balance"

CEREBELLUM FACTS

  • The cerebellum associates with balance it is how your sitting on a chair reading this of standing right next to your best friend
  • Associates skill memory

PITUITARY GLAND

ALL HAIL THE MASTER GLAND

PITUITARY GLAND

  • Master gland
  • The BOSS for hormones
  • Fights diseases

MENINGES

THE SECURITY GAURDS ARE ON A HEIR WAY

Untitled Slide

  • Must protect brain
  • Has 3 layers/maters of connective tissue
  • or matter of the meninges is the Pia mater
  • The layers or mater of the meninges is the Pia mater, Arachnoid, and Dura mater

MEMORY

I KNOW IT I KNOW IT UGH WHAT IS IT

MEMORY

  • When taking in information it starts encoding( ( what information is important)
  • Stores information
  • And of course recalls

SKILL MEMORY

  • Located in cerebellum
  • Stores automatic memories for example playing basketball or riddling a bike

SHORT-TERM MEMORY

  • Also called the working memory
  • Located in the prefrontal complex
  • Remembers up to 7 things for 1 minute

LONG-TERM MEMORY

  • Processed in hippocampus
  • Activated when you want to memorize something for a long time
  • Can hold unlimited content and duration

HIPPOCAMPUS

  • Part of Temporal Lobe
  • Belongs to the Limbic System
  • Without it you can suffer from oxygen starvation, encephalitis, or medial Temporal Lobe Eilepsy

THE BRAIN (FUN FACTS)

  • The brain has billions of nerve cells which is 70% of the neurons you have on your body
  • The Spinal Cord is an extension to the Brain's brain stem
