CHUCK HAGEL
Chuck Hagel born in North Platte, Nebraska on October 4, 1946. He is the age of 67 years. Chuck Hagel's mother and father are Charles Dean Hagel and Betty Hagel. Chuck is married to Lilibet Hagel. He went to college at University of Nebraska at Omaha. He used to work at Vanguard Cellular.
Homeland Security Presidential Directive-7 (HSPD-7), Critical Infrastructure Identification, Prioritization and Protection, assigns responsibilities to the Department of Defense. The DoD has two roles for critical infrastructure protection, first as a Federal department and second as a Sector-Specific Agency for one of seventeen national infrastructure sectors-the Defense Industrial Base. Within DoD, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas' Security Affairs, ASD(HD&ASA), is assigned as the lead official for providing policy, guidance, oversight, and resource advocacy for these roles. The Director of Critical Infrastructure Protection under the ASD(HD&ASA) oversees the day-to-day execution of HSPD-7 responsibilities. The responsibilities for each of these roles are summarized below.
The department is divided into three different agencies such the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

For 2014's DoD request a budget of 526.6 billion dollars. But the senate only approved 487 billion dollars of there request. 85 billion dollars goes to overseas operations.

The Army, Navy, and Marine Corps was established in 1775. But the Department of Defense was established in 1789. The decision to unify the different services under one Department led to the creation of the National Military Establishment in 1947. In 1949, an amendment to the National Security Act further consolidated the national defense structure by withdrawing cabinet-level status from the three Service secretaries. But it was later renamed the Department of Defense.
