Example?

A picture of 2 celebrities at a red carpet event together. They are at work. After mediation, they are now dating.

Mediating Representations

What is mediating representations?

Same as mediation? Explain further?

• Yes, but...
• Truth is betrayed into stereotypical public belief.
• Mediating into what the public wants to hear.

Example?

Justin Bieber has a lot of negative audience. Bieber see filming with cops, mediated to have been arrested.

Audience Interpretation

What is audience interpretation?

Explain further?

• It's the mediators job to persuade the audience of the truth.
• It is the audiences job to question it.
• It is the audiences job to interpret it how they want.

Example?

Referring to the picture of 2 celebrities 'dating', whilst actually at work. Audience have a choice to interpret the truth.

Objectivity

What is objectivity?

Explain further?

• All opinions and aspects are taken in to perspective.
• Everyone is to have a say.
• Make a fair opinion and conclusion.
• Avoid Bias opinions and accusations. 

Example?

Again using picture with 2 celebrities together. They could be working together, friends or dating.

Subjectivity

What is subjectivity?

Explain further?

• Used to get ones opinion across.
• Bias opinion.
• Manipulate audience.
• Persuading them this is the truth.
• To ensure they do not contradict themselves.

Example?

That 9/11 incident was planned by the Government.

Impartiality

What is impartiality?

Explain further?

• Mix of objectivity and subjectivity.
• More than 1 opinion given, but not everyone.
• Only people who have credit have an opinion.
• Gives an informed opinion.
• Best way to give information.

Example?

A football match. A professional opinion from both sides.
