What is a biome?
A biome is a enviroment of animals and plants. Biomes are distinct from the different types of communities.

Tropical Rain Forest

  • Get's up to 125 to 660 centimeters of precipitation
  • Abiotic factors include warm climate,sunlight and soil.
  • Landforms of the tropical rain forest channels,streams,and rivers
  • Biotic factors include insects, fungi, and bacteria.

Desert

  • The desert biome gets up to 10 centimeters of rainfall per year
  • Abiotic factors include precipitation and soil
  • Biotic factors include rabbits, snakes, camels
  • Landforms include sand, gravel, boulders, mountains, clay

Grassland

  • Get's up to 25-60 inches per year
  • Abiotic factors include climate, parent material and soil, topography
  • Biotic factors include Canadian Geese, Crickets, Dung Beetle, Bison, and Prairie Chicken.
  • Landforms in the biome include steppes, mountains, and hills.

Deciduous Forest

  • Get's up to 30 to 60 inches of rainfall per year.
  • Abiotic factors are rock,soil,water and sunlight
  • Biotic factors include deciduous trees,coyotes and a white-tail deer
  • Landforms include mountains,valleys and rolling hills.

Tundra

  • 10 inches of precipitation per year
  • Abiotic factors include air,temperature and sunlight.
  • Biotic factors include sedges, reindeer mosses, liverworts.
  • Landforms found in this biome are tiny hills,valleys,and slopes.

Taiga

  • Abiotic factors are rivers,sunlight,lakes,and mountains
  • The total precipitation in a year is 30 to 85 cm
  • Landforms include broad lowlands and gently rolling plains
  • Biotic factors include grass,moss and lichens

Water Ecosystems

  • Lifeforms include nutrients,nitrogen and phosphorus
  • Abiotic Forms are water and soil
  • Landforms include rivers and lakes
