Proposals are funded based on the results of the peer review process. The American Lung Association only funds those applications deemed of highest quality. With the exception of the Allergic Respiratory Disease Award, there are no requirements in the number of applications that must be funded for each grant mechanism.

Mission Statement:
To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

The American Lung Association offers free-of-charge, online care giving coordination service called “My Fighting for Air Community” to support individuals affected by acute and chronic lung diseases.

You can volunteer to be a part of this association. You can volunteer if you are a minor of 13, you must have permission of a parent/guardian. They have a walk called "The Asthma Walk".
