Triangle Thinking

What is it? And, why is it important?

Triangles have been used in architecture for thousands of years.

The Flatiron Building in New York City is a modern example.

Geometry is taught across high schools as core curriculum

So? What does that have to do...

... with THINKING?

Triangle thinking forms a powerful mindset structure!!

Corpus Callosum: "We need to work together!!!"

Corpus Callosum

  • The corpus callosum (Latin for "tough body"), also callosal commissure, is a wide, thick nerve tract, consisting of a flat bundle of commissural fibers, beneath the cerebral cortex in the brain. - Wikipedia

The Connector

  • Physical coordination and taking in complex information requires both sides of the brain to work together. The corpus callosum acts as the connector.
  • By the time a child is 12 years old, their corpus callosum will have finished developing. It will then remain unchanged into adulthood and throughout the rest of their life.

Stronger connection between brain hemispheres

A study published in the journal Brain in September 2013 analyzed Einstein's corpus callosum using a novel technique that allowed for a higher resolution measurement of the fiber thickness. Einstein's corpus callosum was compared to two sample groups: 15 brains of elderly people and 52 brains from people aged 26. Einstein was 26 in 1905, his Annus Mirabilis (Miracle Year). The findings show that Einstein had more extensive connections between certain parts of his cerebral hemispheres compared to both younger and older control group brains.

Albert Einstein

  • In addition to being an expert in science and math...
  • ... Einstein was a passionate violin player.
  • He would constantly toggle between developing his inventions and his passion for violin playing...

To Bridge the Two Brains. An Exercise!!

Step One (5 minutes)

  • Grab a pen and paper.
  • Select an area of your life you wish to improve.
  • Conduct free-form writing. Write whatever comes to mind but write only about the way circumstances and facts are right now, today, current state.
  • Get as much out, can be sentences or words, simply put it on paper.

Step Two (5 minutes)

  • Turn the page over.
  • Now, organize it. Could be in outline or numbered in order of importance.
  • Structure your list into categories, and you choose the category.
  • When done, turn the paper over.

Step Three (10 minutes)

  • Placing what you have written aside, now think about your ideal state.
  • If this current circumstance could be any way you want it to be, what would it look like?
  • Envision it as what you truly desire. Describe it. Imagine it.
  • What would that be? Write it down.

Congratulations!!

  • You have just hacked your brain's corpus callosum!!
  • The more you do it, the easier it gets to do and the stronger your brain's ability to move from analytical to creative.
  • To get really proficient generally takes 2-3 years. At that time one can generally get unstuck from thoughts holding you back in life. Practice!!!!
