By necessity, students at GBS carry their chromebooks, CAS calculators, textbooks, pencils, pens, erasers, papers, notes, and folders all on their backs, which accumulate to weigh about 10- 20 pounds.

In an addition to these, an athletic student must carry an additional bag which contains their uniforms, additional shoes, additional clothes, water bottles, and any other additional equipment that are required.

In January, they carry jackets, gloves, and hats which usually adds up to 6-8 pounds.

The birthday kids carry balloons, presents and the deserts they have received that day.

Most students carry their worries about grades.

Unconsciously, students carry the weight of their parents’ expectations.

Other students carry fear that they will not be accepted into their favorite colleges and universities. They also carry the fear that any test or quiz could demolish their grades.

Nevertheless, they carry hope. They carry their goals, big or small, with optimism.
