What’s True About All Cells

No Description

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CELL ORGANELLES

  • Tiny organs
  • They each Carry out a specific function in the cell
  • They allow the cell to live, grow, replicate
  • I chose this image because these twins are replicated by the same egg and they live and grow on their own

CELL MEMBRANE

  • All cells have a cell membrane
  • The “gatekeeper”
  • Determines what goes in and out
  • Gives cell shape, surround the cell & is the barrier to the outside
  • I chose this photo because it is like a barricade to the outside

CYTOPLASM

  • All cells have cytoplasm
  • “Jelly filling”
  • Space between the cell membrane and nucleus
  • Holds all cell organelles
  • Thick fluid that contains materials to build molecules the cell needs
  • I chose this because it said it was Thick and like jelly filling

DNA

  • Carries genetic info
  • The cells “instruction book”
  • Families carry the same DNA

RIBOSOMES

  • A factory for making proteins; they’re assembly machines
  • Very tiny, will not see under our microscopes
  • Help the cell build new structures
  • I chose this because the key word assembly machines
