Slide Notes

I believe the main lesson that I have learned throughout this entire research is the idea of revision and perseverance. Not only did I learn about my essential question topic, but to get my essential question to where it is now took a long time. There were trials and errors, and once I narrowed it down, I still had to revise the small details. Not only was this just for my essential question, but this idea of revision took place throughout my entire research project. Perseverance goes along with my revision because it is frustrating at times to keep on revising and not getting the result you want. I learned that you must keep trying till eventually you will reach your goal. My target audience was the underclassmen and sophomores specifically. I choose this audience because I believe if someone gave me these encouraging words, but also told the truth it would benefit me greatly. I think I would come into Mrs. Brown's class next year and be prepared for what is in store not only for research report, but the class in general. I believe this information could best be delivered in a speech, but also incorporate the Bible for the idea of perseverance.

I talked to many underclassmen in my seventh period study hall. I gave much advice and gave them encouraging notes, and a little devotion so they are reminded they can do it. I let them know to be aware that they will fail and it will be frustrating, but eventually they will get it. The resonance between my Presentation and my research experience is revision. Throughout my research project especially with using inquiry based learning, perseverance and revision is key. My project has stayed the same throughout my project plan except for which class I was presenting in. Instead of using an English class, I used a seventh period study hall so I could have a variety between the classes. I am very satisfied on how my project turned out. I believe my message was clear and very relatable to the audience I chose. I am glad I took my own advice and revised my original audience. My new target audience seemed to very enjoy my presentation and asked follow up questions. Overall, the one thing I wished I expanded on was tying it back to the Bible. In my presentation I had touched base on it, but I wish I would have chosen specific verses that explained perseverance. I presented my speech on Monday, April 16, in Mr. Morrison’s seventh period study hall.
