Spreadsheet:
an electronic document in which data is arranged in the rows and columns of a grid in a tabular or graphical form and can be manipulated and used for calculations .

DATABASES

  • They store a large amount of data.
  • 1 database consists of a series of related series of tables.
  • Databases are commonly used by web servers and companies that need to keep track of a lot of data such as products and clients that have bought these products
  • Are not modified directly by people but by other applications as data requiring a database is often very large.

SPREADSHEETS

  • Can't store even a fraction of what databases usually store.
  • This is due to the fact that spreadsheets are directly edited by human beings and too much data in one spreadsheet would make the task difficult.
  • commonly used by accountants for financial transactions, scientists for recording experiment figures and engineers for various calculations.
