  • Recognise and remove potential barriers to learning at the outset
  • Design learning environments and opportunities that build on student interests
  • Offer a range of options for demonstrating thinking and learning that will work well for students

A learner profile should include (but not limited to):

  • things they’re good at
  • likes and interests
  • hopes and dreams
  • dislikes and things they avoid
  • important people/pets in their lives
  • life experiences (activities, places, kinds of people they like)
  • how they like to learn and what helps
  • examples of supports that have worked in the past.

learners in the kindergarten might not be able to share all of these information with the teacher, however the teacher can discuss the learner's profile with a guardian, previous teachers, OSR and through observation of student's activities in the classroom the teacher will be able to answer some of these questions

The teacher should ensure that the classroom include various activities and opportunities for students to explore, problem solve, inquire, work individually and in groups, discuss, display their work and feeling safe doing so.

While planning activities we need to keep in mind our students' families, their background and their culture. we need to ensure that we are inclusive.
