Question 1: What is Op Art?
Answer: Op Art is a style of abstract art that creates an optical illusion out of patterns,colors,and overlapping.
Question 2: During what time period did this artistic movement take place?
Answer: The time period that the Op Art took movement in was the late 1930's, but got it's name in 1964 from an magazine article.
Question 3: Where can the beginning of Op Art be traced back to?
Answer: Op Art can be traced back to 1839 and Michel-Eugene Chevreul, a French chemist who studied the effect of pairing complimentary colors.
Question 4: What are the characteristics of Op Art?
Answer: The characteristics of Op Art is that it is concrete art which is abstract art with no figurative or symbolic references ( kinda like non-objective.) It creates optical illusions and the viewer's eye conducts movement and the artwork looks like it's moving, while it isn't.
Question 5:Who are the influential artist of this art style?
Answer: They are Bridget Riley, Victor Vasarely, and Peter Sedgly.

i. What people and objects you see and what is happening? I see stripes like a zebras and that is dark in the front and get lighter in the back.

i. How are the parts of this work arranged?There are curved lines that are filled in black and white. You start in the middle and work your way out.

i. What do I believe is happening? Why? I believe that the lines are creating a square.
ii. What idea, mood, or feeling does this artwork suggest? Why? Nauseous, because of all of the swirling .

i. Personal Judgment: Do you like the work? Why or why not? Yes, I like the work because I like zebra stripes and because of the illusion.
