Thomas More

  • Thomas More was born February 7th, 1478.
  • He was born on Milk Street, London.
  • He became a barrister in 1501.

MORE ACCOMPLISHED A LOT IN HIS LIFE

  • More was a social philosopher, author, statesman, and well-known humanist.
  • More defended the Catholic Church and king Henry VIII.
  • More helped establish the parliamentary privilege of free speech.
  • He also helped King Henry VIII in writing his defense of seven sacraments.

UTOPIA

  • Sir Thomas More wrote the book Utopia.
  • Utopia was one of the first books to invoke the analogy between the great
  • voyages of discovery and discoveries of the mind.
