WHAT IS PNEUMONIA?

  • Pneumonia is an infection that cause fluids or pus to fill the air sacs in your lungs.
  • Pneumonia can be mild or life threatening.
  • If can be caused by germs or viruses in the air we breathe.
  • It is more dangerous to young children, people over 65, or people with health issues

SYMPTOMS

  • Chest pain when you breathe or cough
  • Confusion or changes in metal awareness
  • Cough
  • Lower then usual body temperature
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Sweating
  • Shakeing
  • Diarrhea
  • Shortness of breath

CAUSES

  • Pneumonia is caused by germs and viruses in the air when you breathe.
  • Your body usually avoids these germs but sometimes the germs overpower your lungs and take over even when you are healthy.
  • The flu is also a common cause

HOW TO AVOID IT

  • Try to prevent the flu, you can do this by getting vaccinated.
  • Children younger then five and adults older then 65 should try to get vaccinated against pneumococcal pneumonia which is a common form of bacterial pneumatic.

CAN THIS DISEASE BE TREATED?

  • Yes, it can be treated by vaccines, antibiotics, and oxygen therapy
