HALLIE MARTLAGE

LOS GLACIARES NATIONAL PARK

  • Glacier national park covers half of the world heritage property
  • It is known for rugged glacial lakes that extend for 160 km long
  • It is located in Argentina
  • I think it is important because it holds giant glaciers that are an important part of history dating 10,000 years

IGUAZU NATIONAL PARK

  • Located in Argentina
  • It contains a waterfall 80 m high and 2,700 m in diameter
  • The surrounding rainforest has 2,000 species of plants and has many wildlife species
  • I think it is important because it contains species that reveal other world heritage sites. The species also make a better effort to communicate the biological diversity contained with other world heritage properties

NOEL KEMPFF MERCADO NATIONAL PARK

  • Located in Bolivia
  • This park dates back to almost a billion years ago to the Precambrian Era
  • There is 4,000 species of flowers and 600 bird species that are either endangered or threatened
  • I think this park is important because it contains endangered and or threatened animals that can live safely

DESEMBARCO DEL GRANMA NATIONAL PARK

  • Located in Cuba
  • This park contains uplifted terraces with ongoing development in features
  • This area has terraces and cliffs with some of the most impressive cliffs bordering the western Atlantic
  • I think this park is important because it has cliffs that are important to the environment. I also think this park is important because it represents globally geomorphologic and physiographic features.

CANAIMA NATIONAL PARK

  • Located in Venezuela
  • This park is covered by mountain formations with sheer cliffs and waterfalls including the worlds highest 1,000 m. All these features form a spectacular landscape
  • I think this park is important because it also has IUCN Red Listed Animals and plants. The species that are identified make a better effort to create biodiversity.
