Cotton Facts:

-Production exploded after the Civil War
-In 1869, 350,628 bails were produced

-By 1900, 3.5 million bales were produced

-For many Texans cotton became a very high price
-family became and the sharecroppers where as young as four years old

CATTLE

  • Texas had been a cattle country since the 1800 century
  • the longhorns started to sell a lot in the northern states
  • they sold started to sell cattle all the way to Canada

RAILROADS

  • railroads would bring people business and new city to Texas
  • after civil war many miles of track where built and brought to the state
  • the effect was people where able to bring goods for farmer
