Who is Faith Burland?

  • Faith Bandler was an activist involved in the fight for Civil Rights for the Aboriginal peoples in 1967.

What did she achieve?

  • She is well known for her active role in publicising the YES case for the Aboriginal question in the 1967 Referendum.

  • Malcom X was an American Civil Rights activist who induced the Australian Indigenous protest marches for Civil Rights.

  • The entire movement lasted from 1957-1973.
  • Several Freedom Rides were organised to protest against Segregation and Assimilation.
