WHAT DID HE DO? WHY?

Henry had 6 wives.
He divorced his first wife, Catherine of Aragon because she could not provide him with a son to be his heir.
He shut down monasteries because the wealthy monks were becoming lazy and not doing their service.

WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME OF HIS DECISIONS?

King Henry was granted divorce by the Archbishop.
This angered the Pope and English Catholics because marriage was supposed to be eternal.
He was made Supreme Head of the Church in 1534, which began the reformation.
By the time of Henry's death, the Lord's Prayer was said in an English Bible.

Before he became King, all services and prayers were said in Latin and the Pope had authority over the entire Church.
