• Instead he surrounded himself with people with different view point and people that wouldn't always agree with him

HOW TO BOUNCE BACK

• Dealt with with multiple deaths in his family throughout his life and fought depression
• He did not let that stop him however
• He also lost countless times to other political figures but continued to fight

FORGIVENESS AND MERCY

• He gave people many opportunities to do something or fix what they have done
• Lincoln gave George McClellan multiple opportunities to win a battle but he hesitated every time and allowed the confederates to get away

ABILITY TO DEFUSE A SITUATION

• Lincoln often used humor and comedy to defuse very tense and stressed situations
• That does not mean however that he didn't take the situation seriously, he just wanted to make it less tense
