2014-2015 Review: Number of bespoke workshops delivered (not including central teaching)

2014-2015 review: Total sessions v total hours delivery

Sessions by ESF (some sessions covered more than one component)

ESF in the context of education

  • Placements built into programmes (less input needed on getting experience)
  • Work on communicating value completed in curriculum and through central offer.
  • Feedback from students: What can we do with this degree? (ECS, C&Y, ES) So focus on career learning.

DLHE Insights (FT, First Degree)

Challenges

  • Increase % of students accessing graduate work in ECS/C&Y/ES. On Average this is 23%
  • No year through employability modules across the College (hard to embed)
  • Join up best practice (why not a College Futures Award)
  • CC spread thinly. Must work smart.

Targets for my 2015-16 approach

  • Pursue co-curricular activity to ensure higher engagement
  • Audit and review of curriculum to see gaps. Avoid duplication (using ESF)
  • Get agreement on priority courses (From DLHE & joint meetings with academics)
  • Focus on wider career learning (not just teaching)
  • Improve central teaching offer
