WHAT EVEN IS OSTEOPOROSIS

  • Osteoporosis is a disease that happens when you lose to much bone, have to much or both.

HOW TO PREVENT OSTEOPOROSIS

  • To have lots of Calcium so that it helps your bones to stay strong.
  • You also need vitamin D because it helps you absorb calcium.

  • Milk ~300mg
  • Cheese~200mg
  • Yogurt~295mg
  • Orange juice~300mg
  • Instant oatmeal~150mg

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU MORE LIKELY TO HAVE OSTEOPOROSIS

  • Age- usually after the age of 30 your bones will start getting weaker but at the age of 50 is the most common age of getting it.
  • Low body weight~Weighing less than 127 lbs can increase the chance that you might get osteoporosis.
  • Drinking alot~ When a person drinks alcohol it messes with the pancreas and uit’s absorbance of calcium and vitamin D. It also messes with the liver, which is important for activating vitamin D.
  • Family History~ If your relatives had osteoporosis it is a greater chance that you will get it too.
