CAPITALISM KILLS

One of the many reasons that people become greedy is because of capitalism. The feeling of becoming something from nothing and the constant wanting to succeed and excel in life. This feeling drives our emotions and makes us want to, in a sense crave money and crave success. This feeling is called greed, and once it takes a hold of you, it is very hard to escape it.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

HOW DO WE BECOME GREEDY AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT US?
Paul Farhi gives a reason of why people become greedy and how greed affects us as humans. he gives us a quote through the eyes of greed himself, "Will you never learn that the thirsts of the spirit cannot be quenched in the realm of the material? As a wise man once said, happiness lies not in the addition of gold, but in the subtraction of desire. I remain, your ever-present companion . . . Greed".

BASSANIO

THE MERCHANT OF VENICE
The character Bassanio in the Merchant of Venice becomes greedy when he desires to woo a wealthy woman, his friend Antonio lends him money for him to do so, but in the process gets into a deal with a loan shark. Long story short, Antonio doesn't pay his debt but he ends up not having to pay it because he wins in court. The irony of the story is that Bassanio's greed and desire almost killed his friend Antonio, and the funny part is that Bassanio doesn't realize this at all throughout the entire play.

GREED

THE REAL PRICE OF
Everyone has greed in their mind at least once in their lives. Greed is a very serious addiction that every person struggles from, but there are ways to cure this addiction. The only way to get rid of greed is to rid yourself of the desire and craving of material possessions. In the Bible one of the Ten Commandments is "thou-shall-not-covet-your-neighbors-wife" which means to not covet or desire to have your neighbors possessions. All in all, greed is a serious problem, and one of the best way to get rid of it, is not by earthly methods but by spiritual methods, through Christ.
